About

UDDESHYA FOUNDATION is a registered grassroot NGO based in the capital city of Lucknow and currently operational in various parts of state of India. Our NGO was established by group of Lawyers for providing free legal aid to economically weaker section of society, (RTE) for their children and helping them in making their Ration Card, registering them with government schemes & arranging for their livelihood.

We have committed teams who are working tirelessly during this Covid-19 outbreak. Our NGO has been working with the support of some of the Member of Parliament, Member of Legislative Assembly, Senior civil servants, social workers and general public who helped us in the procurement of dry ration, preparation and distribution of food packets, sanitation and hygiene material to migrant laborers. After serving almost 20,000 migrant workers, now we are focusing on awareness on menstrual hygiene, usage of mask, sanitizer, soaps, etc. in rural areas of Lucknow. Within urban areas, the prime responsibility is to ensure safe shelter, woollen clothes and blankets to save life from harsh winters.

Uddeshya Foundation also took up the task to assist Smt. Sanyukta Bhatia, Mayor, Lucknow Municipal Corporation on policy recommendation for development of the Lucknow through regular field reports. We also got the opportunity to offer our services to Mr Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India and Member of Parliament, Lucknow for successful implementation of various social welfare schemes and critical development projects by Union and State government. Our work has also been appreciated by Shri Ashutosh Tandon ‘Gopal’, Minister for Urban Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

We collaborated for a project with Mrs. Ritu Kumar, Joint Secretary, Lucknow Development Authority for feeding stray animals in outskirts of Lucknow.

Uddeshya Foundation believes in the spirit of partnership and has joined hands with community organization, civic bodies, corporate, educational and development institutions, as well as government to strengthen its cause and ameliorate the situation of underprivileged families especially children and youths in India. The entire management and operations of Uddeshya Foundation is on compliance with the principal of “good Governance” and thus sets itself apart with its set norms of sustainability, scalability, accountability, transparency, credibility and effective leadership

Organizational Capacity…

The Foundation diligently follows the principle of Good Governance and insists upon their implementation across all activities. Our day to day activities are handled directly by an Executive Committee, comprising professionals, which reports to management. The latter is constituted once every year, and includes professionals from rich technical background as well as persons of eminence. Also we encourage its NGO partners to follow all kinds of credibility norms, by itself adhering to these first. This ensures Good Governance and complete accountability. Part of this endeavour is implementation of the regular audit system that helps monitor resource utilization and project impact on regular basis

The Programme Division is headed by a experienced professional having long working experience in development sectors (Education and empowerment, reproductive and sexual health, Livelihood, sanitation) in varied organizational set-ups besides considerable social research experience under private sector/ academic institutions. Financial monitoring is strictly done, first by Programme Division examining financial statement and subsequently Accounts division auditing bills and vouchers and finally by external auditor. Every effort is made to ensure that grant made is utilized for the purpose it was meant.

Principles & Values of Uddeshya Foundation…

Care, education and support should be governed by the following principles and values:

Respect

For human rights, ethics, confidentiality, informed consent, privacy, and individual dignity should be maintained. Practices apply equally to poor and orphan children as to other individuals. Fighting discrimination, enhancing respect of individual autonomy and human dignity and pursuing informed consent are all relevant to orphans.

Equality

Affordable care of acceptable quality should be provided to all people regardless of gender (men and women), age, race, ethnicity, and place of residence. More attention should be given to those groups of the people that have more problems to access care: orphans, girls, street children, the uneducated and the poor.
